Boef, all'anagrafe Sofiane Youssef Samir Boussaadia, è nato il 28. Februar 1993 ad Aubervilliers, Île-de-France, ed è cresciuto ad Alkmaar, nei Paesi Bassi. Ha trascorso l'infanzia fra Francia, Paesi Bassi e USA; dopo periodi in istituti penali minorili, a 18 anni ha deciso di dedicarsi interamente alla musica. La prima grande spinta è arrivata nel 2015 con una live session per l'etichetta Zonamo Underground, il cui video su YouTube ha raccolto oltre 1 milione di visualizzazioni. Il suo EP d'esordio Gewoon Boef (febbraio 2016), anticipato dalla hit „Lauw", ha raggiunto il 4. posto nelle classifiche olandesi e ha ottenuto la certificazione di platino. L'album d'esordio Slaaptekort (marzo 2017) ha superato questo risultato, conquistando la vetta delle Dutch Charts. Musicalmente, Boef unisce il rap in lingua olandese a influenze di gangsta rap 90s, musica araba ed eurodance: un mix che lo ha reso in brevissimo tempo, accanto a Lil' Kleine e Ronnie Flex, uno dei rapper più ascoltati in streaming nei Paesi Bassi. Parallelamente alla musica, gestisce con successo un canale vlog i cui video raggiungono milioni di visualizzazioni. Le sue pubblicazioni sono uscite, fra gli altri, per BoefMusic, Zonamo Underground e Sony Music Entertainment.
