Danny Howells, nato il 24. novembre 1970 nella località costiera inglese di Hastings, è una delle figure più influenti della scena Progressive House e Tech House internazionale. Ha iniziato la carriera da DJ alla fine degli anni 1980, dapprima con l'Italo House e il techno belga, per poi sviluppare il suo sound inconfondibile, da lui stesso definito „deepsexyfuturistictechfunkouse". Prima che il DJing diventasse la sua professione a tempo pieno, Howells lavorava come infermiere psichiatrico a Hastings. La consacrazione internazionale è arrivata grazie ai suoi mix album per la rinomata etichetta Global Underground, tra cui Global Underground 027: Miami e la serie Nocturnal-Frequencies (dal 1999). Ha ottenuto residency in club come Ministry of Sound, Cream, Renaissance, The End e Twilo a New York, esibendosi tra l'altro allo Space Ibiza. Come metà del duo Science Department, ha prodotto con Dick Trevor singoli quali „Breathe" e „Persuasion"/"Repercussion", oltre a remix per artisti come BT e Robbie Williams. Dal 2008 gestisce la sua etichetta Dig Deeper, che prende il nome dalla sua storica serata club. Di recente è attivo nel trio 3D insieme a Dave Seaman e Darren Emerson.
