Pangaea, real name Kevin McAuley, is a British DJ and producer based in London, raised in the West of England and having lived in Leeds before settling in the capital. Since his debut self-titled EP in 2010, he has become one of the key figures in forward-thinking UK club music. As part of the Hessle Audio triumvirate alongside Ben UFO and Pearson Sound, he has had a defining influence on UK bass and dancefloor culture. Early releases such as "Router" on Hessle Audio and "Hex" on Hemlock drew widespread critical attention. In 2014 he released the DJ mix album "FabricLive.73" for London's legendary Fabric. His debut album "In Drum Play" followed in 2016, with further releases on his own Hadal imprint including "Bear Witness" and "Stimulant Dub". In 2023, his second studio album "Changing Channels" was awarded "Best New Music" by Pitchfork upon release. Known for technically acrobatic sets spanning UK garage to happy hardcore, he remains a sought-after presence on international club stages.
