Plastik Funk è il duo house tedesco formato da Rafael Ximenez-Carrillo e Mikio Gruschinske, nato nel 2002 ai tempi della scuola. Ximenez-Carrillo è nato a Madrid ed è cresciuto a Grevenbroich (NRW), mentre Gruschinske ha trascorso i primi anni di vita a Tokyo prima di trasferirsi a Berlino. Entrambi hanno iniziato come DJ hip hop, per poi orientarsi verso la house dopo aver scoperto pionieri del genere come Frankie Knuckles e David Morales.
Dal debutto del 2003 con l’EP „Do It Right", hanno costruito un ricco catalogo di brani electro-house adatti alle radio, pubblicati su etichette quali Spinnin' Records, Revealed Recordings (Hardwell), HEXAGON (Don Diablo) e Smash The House (Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike). Nel 2011 sono entrati nelle classifiche tedesche con una cover di „Everybody Dance Now". Il loro maggiore successo in classifica è stata la collaborazione del 2014 „Dr. Who!" con Tujamo e Sneakbo, entrata al 21º posto della UK Single Charts. Hanno inoltre realizzato remix per artisti come David Guetta, Deadmau5, Robyn e Shaggy.
Come DJ si sono esibiti in festival quali Tomorrowland, Ultra Europe, Mayday, Sensation White e Love Parade, oltre a una residency estiva nel leggendario Space Ibiza. Da oltre vent’anni Plastik Funk è una presenza costante nella scena club europea.
