Sido, all'anagrafe Paul Hartmut Würdig e nato il 30 novembre 1980 a Ost-Berlin, è uno dei rapper tedeschi più influenti della sua generazione. Lui stesso interpreta il suo nome d'arte come „super-intelligentes Drogenopfer"; in origine significava „Scheiße in dein Ohr", un verso del suo primo brano „Terroarr". Sido è attivo dal 1997 e ha pubblicato le prime demo insieme a B-Tight, con il nome Royal TS, attraverso la label underground berlinese Royal Bunker. Ha ottenuto il successo nel 2004 con l'album di debutto „Maske" su Aggro Berlin, che in meno di un mese ha venduto oltre 100.000 copie. Il suo brano più noto tratto da quell'album, „Mein Block", racconta la vita nel Märkischen Viertel, un'area socialmente problematica di Berlin. Nello stesso anno ha vinto un prestigioso premio musicale tedesco come „Best Newcomer". Sono seguiti album come „Ich" (2006) e collaborazioni con Bushido, Fler, Kool Savas, SDP e Apache 207.
