The bass hits from outside long before you reach the door – deep, precise, House. Walking the strip of Cala Ratjada, you cannot miss Keops: the striking pyramid design that gives the club its name glows in the night, and there is no way to walk past without noticing it. Inside, the theme continues without compromise – ancient Egyptian forms and pyramid motifs run through the décor, creating an immersive atmosphere that announces itself at the entrance. Up on the furnished rooftop terrace that regulars call the “Inferno”, a dedicated bartender works behind his own bar while the view stretches across the nighttime lights of the village.
Concept
Two floors, five bars, one central dance floor, one furnished rooftop terrace with its own bartender – the club's self-description is compact, and it covers the essentials. Keops is the most design-forward and the most clearly positioned venue in Cala Ratjada's local disco trio of Keops, Bolero, and Physical: right next to each other, but with markedly different characters. While Mallorca Schlager thumps next door, here the programme is House, current chart hits, and electronic music – without exception. No Ballermann anthems. That is not an oversight; it is a deliberate choice, and within Cala Ratjada it makes a real difference.
Atmosphere & Design
The interior is stylish and well air-conditioned – both sound obvious, but in a midsummer night in northeast Mallorca they are genuinely appreciated. The light show ranks among the best the town has to offer: precisely timed, visually convincing, a standalone element of the evening. Five bars across two floors mean short walks to the next drink; a different complimentary drink is included with entry every evening.
Anyone who needs a break from the dance floor heads up to the “Inferno” terrace: fully furnished, its own bartender, conversation at a human volume. Re-entry stamps at the door mean you can step out and come back whenever you like.
The security team is active and hands-on: seating is assigned, the terrace is managed, and late in the night the rooftop is methodically emptied back towards the dance floor. Part of the crowd finds this professionally run; others find it intrusive. Knowing it in advance makes the evening easier to navigate.
Programme & Music
House and current club hits form the backbone. Reggae, hip-hop, and black music rotate in; Latin nights appear regularly through the season. What will not play: Mallorca Schlager. Anyone wanting to dance without ending up in a Ballermann atmosphere will not find a better option in Cala Ratjada.
Who It's For
The crowd skews young and predominantly German – holiday groups and friend circles dominate. Women typically have better entry terms; the exact setup varies by night and is announced on the club's official social-media channels. The format suits group nights out, end-of-holiday celebrations, and anyone who prefers energy and a working dance floor over table service.
Insider Tip
Keops gets going late – arriving early means half-empty rooms. The classic Cala Ratjada sequence: warm up at the Bierbrunnen or Chocolate, then cross over to Keops once the night has picked up. Use the re-entry stamp – you can step out anytime. The rooftop fills quickly and gets cleared by security towards the end of the night; go up early if you want it on your own terms. Street promoters outside sell not just club entry but also boat trips – a polite brush-off and a straight walk to the box office saves time. Free on-street parking is available nearby.
