De Banda Municipal de Música de Santanyí is een van de oudste muziekinstellingen van Mallorca. De eerste vermeldingen van een gemeentelijke harmonie in Santanyí dateren uit 1870, waardoor de band kan terugkijken op meer dan 170 jaar geschiedenis. Ze geldt als cultureel symbool en belangrijk educatief instrument van de gemeente. Het merendeel van de circa 65 actieve muzikanten bestaat uit leerlingen en docenten van de Escola Municipal de Música de Santanyí (EMMS). Door de decennia heen hebben talrijke dirigenten het ensemble gevormd, onder wie Jaume Adrover, Miquel Morell, Andreu Bennàssar, Jordi Rosselló en Miquel Bonet. Momenteel staat Pedro Vallbona voor de band; Mateu Nadal is coördinator. De Banda treedt regelmatig op tijdens lokale en bovenlokale evenementen, zoals het Gran Concert de Sant Jaume en het VI Festival Música de Santanyí. In 2024 opende zij de concertreeks „Nits d'estiu a Raixa" van de Consell de Mallorca op het historische landgoed Raixa, met werken van Ennio Morricone, Klaus Badelt en John Higgins op het programma. De band concerteerde ook internationaal en vertegenwoordigt het muzikale erfgoed van Santanyí tot ver buiten de gemeentegrenzen.
