Jayda G, met als burgerlijke naam Jayda Guy, groeide op in het kleine Grand Forks in British Columbia, Kanada – omringd door natuur, die later ook haar academische loopbaan zou beïnvloeden. Tijdens haar masteropleiding Resource & Environmental Management begon ze in Vancouver te draaien en ontdekte ze haar passie voor vinyl en housemuziek. In 2016 verhuisde ze naar Berlin om haar dj-carrière serieus na te streven. Vroege ep's op haar eigen label Freakout Cult (samen met DJ Fett Burger), evenals releases op 1080p en Geography Records, legden de basis, waaronder de geprezen track „Diva Bitch". Haar debuutalbum „Significant Changes" verscheen in 2019 op Ninja Tune en combineerde Chicago House met vintage drumcomputerfunk. In 2021 volgde een Grammy-nominatie in de categorie „Best Dance Recording" voor „Both of Us" (63. Grammy Awards). Ook remixte ze Dua Lipas „Cool" voor het album „Club Future Nostalgia" en werkte ze samen met Aluna. Haar DJ-Kicks-compilatie (2021) omvatte funk, soul, house en disco. Jayda G speelde op festivals als Glastonbury en Coachella, en bij Dekmantel, Boiler Room en het Warehouse Project. Ze woont tegenwoordig in London en heeft een contract bij !K7 Records.
