No Te Va Gustar, known as NTVG, hails from Malvín, Montevideo, and was formed in 1994 by a group of teenage friends who first played at a neighborhood festival. The band's breakthrough came in 1998 when they won a Montevideo song festival. In 1999 they independently released their debut album "Sólo de Noche," inspired by emerging Latin rock. Signing to Bizarro Records for "Este Fuerte Viento que Sopla" (2002) cemented their success in Uruguay before they broke through internationally. Their sound fuses a powerful rock foundation with reggae, folk, murga, ska, and candombe. Albums like "El Calor del Pleno Invierno" (2012) topped the charts in Uruguay and Argentina, followed by chart-topping releases "El Tiempo Otra Vez Avanza" (2014) and "Suenan las Alarmas" (2017). In 2019 they founded their own label, Elefante Blanco. With nine Latin Grammy nominations and Platinum certifications in Argentina and Uruguay, they rank among Latin America's most celebrated rock bands. Known for dynamic live shows, they've played to crowds of 60,000 in Montevideo and tour regularly across Latin America, the US, and Europe. Current lineup: Emiliano Brancciari (vocals, guitar), Guzmán Silveira (bass), Diego Bartaburu (drums), plus a horn section with trumpet, trombone, and saxophone.
