Paul Elstak, urodzony 14 stycznia 1966 w Den Haag, jest jedną z kluczowych postaci niderlandzkiej sceny hardcore i gabber. Karierę DJ-ską rozpoczął 1987 jako rezydent rotterdamskiego klubu Bluetiek-Inn, gdzie po raz pierwszy współpracował z pionierem house’u Peter Slaghuis. Wraz z Rob Fabrie i Richard van Naamen założył projekt Holy Noise, który w 1991 z utworem „James Brown Is Still Alive” dotarł na 8. miejsce niderlandzkiej Top 40. W 1992 utworem Euromasters „Where the Fuck Is Amsterdam?” położył podwaliny pod brzmienie gabber i w tym samym roku założył Rotterdam Records.
