Description

The Àrea Recreativa de Llubí is an outdoor recreational area in the Mallorcan village of Llubí, offering picnic and barbecue facilities in a peaceful, nature-filled setting.

BBQ Spots, Picnic Tables & Playground

At the heart of the area you'll find tables and barbecue stations where families and groups can gather for a meal together. The barbecue facilities may only be used between November and April — during the remaining months, grilling and open fires are strictly prohibited. There's a playground for children featuring swings and a sandpit; compared to the one in the village centre, it's more generously laid out, though fairly simply equipped and better suited to children aged six and above. The grounds are fenced in, giving children a bit more freedom to roam.

Atmosphere & Nature

The area sits within a wooded setting and offers views of the Serra de Tramuntana. Its quiet, unhurried atmosphere makes it a wonderful spot to switch off — birdsong and the rustle of wind through the trees set the tone. Free-roaming cats and chickens make the occasional appearance as well. One recurring issue to be aware of is processionary caterpillars in the pine trees, which during certain times of year can make their way onto the picnic tables.

Getting There

The Àrea Recreativa is located just outside the village centre of Llubí (07430). It's possible to walk from the village, with the route passing by traditional agricultural estates. There is no dedicated car park on site. If you're arriving by car, bear in mind that the access road leading back out to the main road operates as a one-way system on the return journey, monitored by a camera.
