Cala Agulla
Description
Cala Agulla is a sandy beach near Cala Figuera on the east coast of Mallorca, nestled between pine woodland and sand dunes.
Water, Sand and Nature
The water at Cala Agulla shimmers in shades of turquoise and is remarkably clear. The beach is made up of fine sand, and the sea shelves only very gradually — making for relaxed, easy swimming. Behind the beach, pine trees, dunes and rolling hills frame the bay, giving this stretch of coastline a genuinely natural character. The rocks and cliffs are great for snorkelling, with shoals of fish clearly visible in the shallow water. In places, the sand takes on a faint rosy hue.
Location & Getting There
The beach is located on Carrer d'es Niu de s'Àguila, s/n, 07659 Cala Figuera. Outside peak season, parking spaces near the roundabout close to the beach are freely available. In high season the beach is well attended and the entrance area fills up quickly — head further along the beach if you're after a bit more space. Natural shade from the pine trees is there if you need it, though it is fairly limited.
Facilities & Atmosphere
The beach has kiosks, as well as toilets and showers. Sun loungers, parasols, pedal boats, kayaks and SUP boards are all available to hire. Lifeguard towers are in place. The atmosphere is a lively mix: those seeking a peaceful escape, families and a more boisterous crowd all share the same stretch of sand. If quiet is what you're after, the shoulder season or an early morning visit is the way to go.
