Cala S'Amarador
Description
Cala S'Amarador is a sandy beach within the Mondragó Natural Park in the south-east of Mallorca – a sweeping bay of turquoise-clear water, framed by pine trees and unspoilt nature.
Water, Sand and Natural Park
The bay impresses with crystal-clear, turquoise water and fine pale sand. The seabed shelves very gently, making swimming comfortable even for young children. All around, the Mondragó Natural Park stretches out with pine woodland and stunning views – and if you fancy a walk, marked trails lead from the beach to the nearby Cala Mondragó and beyond.
Facilities on the Beach
There is a small beach bar where you can pick up food and drinks. Sun loungers are available, though they tend to go quickly during peak season. Mobile toilet facilities are on site, and a lifeguard is present.
Getting There and Parking
The beach is located at Torrent Roig s'Amarador, 07690 Illes Balears. A good-sized car park sits close to the beach, with shady trees that make waiting around far more bearable. From the car park, a marked footpath winds through the natural park down to the bay. It is well worth setting your sat-nav to the car park itself – Aparcament de s'Amarador – as GPS directions can sometimes send you the wrong way.
Things to Bear in Mind
The cala gets busy in peak season, so arriving early is the best way to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. The beach sits within a protected nature reserve, meaning dogs are not permitted. During summer, it is a good idea to bring plenty of water with you.
