Description
Calixto is a Spanish restaurant specialising in paella, located in the old-town quarter of Centre in Palma.
Paella – and nothing else
The menu at Calixto is stripped back to the essentials: paella, and paella alone, in four varieties – vegetarian, meat, fish, and a traditional mixed paella. Every portion is made fresh to order, which does mean a bit of a wait. The socarrat – the crispy rice crust that forms at the bottom of the pan – is something of a trademark here. Sangria is the natural companion to the paella, and it comes highly recommended.
Location & Terrace
The restaurant sits at Carrer del Banc de l'Oli 14 in the Centre quarter of Palma. The terrace spills out onto a quiet little square shaded by orange trees – a lovely spot that makes the wait feel entirely worthwhile and works beautifully for families with children. Air-conditioned seating is also available inside.
Atmosphere & Character
Calixto is family-run and has a distinctly local feel: unfussy, authentic, and unpretentious. The venue is fully accessible, and vegetarian options are a permanent fixture on the menu.
