Since 1985, El Calamar Rubio has stood for genuine home cooking — "Comida Casera que Enamora" (home cooking that wins your heart), as the restaurant itself puts it. The menu features dishes such as tortilla, calamares, snails, arroz brut, tapas, pa amb oli, carrilleras and home-made desserts. Even the potatoes are made from scratch. Portions are generous.

The restaurant has been run by the same family for over 30 years; the current owner, Mónica, took the reins around 18 years ago. That heritage shows in the atmosphere: unpretentious, shaped by locals, with no pretence of gloss — just a genuine neighbourhood feel.
