Five Generations of Craft
Gabriel Pou founded Forn de Baix in 1850. The business has been passed down from generation to generation ever since — today, Ana Mari Pou and Pedro Coll carry the family tradition forward.
The Cardenal: the House Speciality
By far the most celebrated product here is the Cardenal, a dessert made with semi-frozen cream that is particularly popular in summer. It is regarded as a Lloseta speciality and is crafted with pride at Forn de Baix — including a Ferrero version. Also well worth trying are the ensaimadas, filled ensaimadas, empanadas, roscón de reyes, pistachio cheesecake, and coca de flan.
Breads and Sweet Treats
Alongside the Cardenal, freshly baked bread and pastries are a real draw. The chocolate croissant and the ensaimada go down particularly well with visitors. Both the sweet and savoury ranges are considered to be of excellent quality.
