Playa de Cala Pi
Description
Playa de Cala Pi is a narrow sandy cove in the south of Mallorca, framed by sheer cliffs and reached via a well-built staircase carved into the rock.
The Cove & Water
Cala Pi sits in an ancient riverbed, which gives the beach its distinctive narrow, elongated shape. The water is turquoise and crystal clear, and the sheltered position keeps conditions calm and shallow — perfect for a relaxed swim. Cliff paths run along both sides of the cove, offering sweeping views across the bay. The beach itself has no sun loungers.
Getting There & the Descent
The cove is located near Carrer Torre 4A in Cala Pi. Access to the beach is via a well-constructed staircase — well over a hundred steps in total. Parking nearby is limited, and arriving by scooter tends to make life considerably easier. Bins are provided at the top of the staircase, though there is no waste-separation infrastructure on the beach itself, and no toilets down below.
Good to Know
There are no facilities on the beach itself. If you're bringing any rubbish down, the bins are right at the top of the steps on your way back up. Due to the long staircase, the cove is not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility. During peak summer it can get busy — both on the beach and in the car park.
