Description
Puig de l'Águila is a hiking destination near Cala Sant Vicenç in the north of Mallorca, rewarding you with sweeping views over bays and cliffs.
The Route Up
The trail runs as a circular walk from the car park above the beach at Cala Sant Vicenç up to the summit. The first half as far as the caves is relatively straightforward; the second section over the ridge and back through the valley to the main path is more demanding. Sturdy footwear is strongly recommended, as the path is strewn with loose scree. There is no shade anywhere along the route — pack plenty of water if you're heading up in strong sunshine. Dogs are welcome on the trail.
Views and Caves
From the summit, a panorama opens up across the surrounding bays and cliffs. Along the way you can explore a cave that makes for a wonderful highlight of the walk. Access to it is through a gate on the side of the path.
Getting There
The starting point is at W3J2+2G in Cala Sant Vicenç, 07460, on the Balearic Islands. The car park sits above the beach.
