Description
Sant Julià de Campos is the parish church of the municipality of Campos in the south of Mallorca — a neo-baroque place of worship with a remarkable interior.
Architecture & Interior
The exterior, with its striking bell tower, gives an immediate sense of the church's scale. Inside, the vaulted ceiling steals the show — rendered in blue and gold to evoke a star-filled night sky, it makes a lasting impression from every angle. The stained-glass windows that run around the nave shift the atmosphere of the space throughout the day as the light changes. Among the artistic highlights is a painting attributed to Murillo, alongside several chapels dedicated to different saints. A recumbent statue of the Virgin Mary, dating back several centuries, is used in processions. The organ, built in 1892, was brought over from England.
Museum & Gallery
Beyond the main church itself, the small attached museum is well worth a visit. The gallery also offers a wonderful vantage point from which to take in the full sweep of the interior.
Location & Surroundings
The church stands at Carrer de la Parròquia 2 in the heart of Campos. A visit pairs nicely with the town's weekly Saturday market.
