Sheepdog demonstration and competition

Herding offers a fascinating insight into communication between people and dogs. On 18 October 2026, a sheepdog demonstration and competition in Llucmajor gives you the chance to take a closer look at that partnership. The sporting event is organised by the Associació de Concursos de Cans Pastor de les Illes Balears. In herding work, attentiveness, clear signals and a well-established understanding between dog and handler are essential. That makes it an engaging discipline even if you have no previous knowledge: you can simply focus on how the two work together. With both a demonstration and a competition, the event offers two ways to discover this canine sport, whether you are curious about it or already have an interest in sheepdogs.
