Ricercare. Esteban Belinchón, cello.
What happens when we stop counting the years that separate one piece of music from another and simply listen? Perhaps music does not move forward, but returns. It returns to what we already know so we can see it in a different light. A suite of short pieces invites us to journey through four centuries of music, from the Baroque world to contemporary creation. Short pieces from different periods and styles follow one another like fragments of a single search. Time changes, the language changes, but the cello keeps searching. It searches for a sound, an emotion, an answer. And perhaps, in the end, we discover that listening is also a way of searching.
* Concert organised by Acadèmia 1830.
Austrian-trained, Palma-based cellist specializing in contemporary chamber music.
