Goldberg Variations · Rafael González Paz · piano

THE GOLDBERG VARIATIONS Rafael González Paz presents in Llucmajor one of Johann Sebastian Bach’s most admired works: the Goldberg Variations. Written around an aria and thirty variations, they are among those scores that have accompanied generations of musicians and continue to inspire fascination almost three centuries after their composition. Performing the work in full is uncommon. Not only because of the technical demands it places on the performer, but also because of the concentration, stamina and expressive range required to keep the musical discourse alive throughout the entire piece. In this concert, Rafael González Paz offers a complete performance at the Claustre de Sant Bonaventura, a venue that encourages close listening and proximity between performer and audience. Trained in Uruguay, Germany and Hungary, Rafael González Paz has built a career combining concert performance, chamber music and teaching. He currently maintains a close connection with the Balearic Islands, where he lives and carries out much of his artistic activity.

Uruguayan pianist based in Mallorca, known for refined classical and romantic interpretations (Mozart, Schumann, Gershwin) and an international concert career spanning Montevideo to Budapest.
