ShowArena – Nightlife in Mallorca

Playa de Palma

Playa de Palmalive music

Down the stairs, the noise grows thicker and the air warmer — then the ShowArena opens before you: a vast underground hall bathed in laser rain, floor-to-ceiling LED walls and a stage where, in minutes, one of the Ballermann scene’s biggest names will appear. A litre of beer in hand. The chorus of “Schatzi schenk mir ein Foto” already on your lips. Welcome to Mallorca’s loudest live venue.

Concept

The ShowArena is the underground club arm of the Megapark complex at Ballermann 5 — and the place where nights reach their most dramatic moment. Upstairs, the bar has been running a Schlager marathon since breakfast; downstairs, across some 3,500 square metres and four floors of the arena, nights shift up a gear. This is where the late-night live sets of the season’s stars take place: Mickie Krause, the “King of Mallorca”, Mia Julia as party queen, Isi Glück as the Ballermann princess, Oli.P — plus genre-busters like FiNCH with Hardtekk or rapper Veysel making his live island debut. Megapark bills itself as “Mallorca’s party temple No. 1” — and means it without irony.

Programme & Music

A daily changing show programme — four different floors, themed parties, DJ sets and at least two live acts taking the stage late at night and past midnight. The musical spectrum runs from classic Ballermann anthems to Hardtekk and German rap: “Baila Baila”, “Layla”, “Mehr Promille als IQ” — same evening, same DJ booth. Haftbefehl performed live at the opening, a signal of how seriously the complex takes its genre crossover. The daily schedule is available up to six weeks in advance through the dedicated Megapark app; if you don’t want to miss a specific show, check early.

Drinks & the Litre Principle

Beer by the litre — or not at all. That’s not hyperbole: the format here is the litre stein of beer or long drink, or a five-litre column for a group. Every purchase comes with a receipt that doubles as a free T-shirt voucher — one stein, one shirt; one column, five shirts, redeemable the same night at two collection points in the venue. Prices are firmly on the higher end for the Playa — many guests call the drinks expensive — but the arena entrance includes a one-litre drink token, which reframes the maths considerably. Arriving in the early evening means free admission. No food to speak of; beer is the menu.

Atmosphere

Google reviews sum up the atmosphere in three words: “Germany in Spain”. The crowd is overwhelmingly German; guests in the arena tend to skew younger than those upstairs in the Megapark bar. Laser showers sweep across the hall, stadium-scale LED screens frame the stage, and dancers perform on the platform — everything is designed for maximum energy. Loud is an understatement. The brand’s own tagline: #ifeelmega. “You can be whoever you want here, without being judged.” If that’s exactly what you’re after, you’ll find it here without compromise.

Who It’s For

Stag and hen parties, group trips, solo travellers who want to dive headfirst into the Playa de Palma world — the ShowArena is the final destination of a night that actually starts on the beach in the afternoon. The Megapark opening and closing events are season highlights that draw massive crowds. For a VIP experience, the Q-Lounge upstairs and the VIP Stage right at the front of the arena can be booked in advance via the app or online.

Insider Tip

Arriving early in the evening means free admission to the arena — and the best spots for the late-night show. Order a five-litre column for the group: the receipt nets you five free shirts, the undisputed souvenir of the night. Daily programme, acts and VIP bookings all live in the Megapark app.

Frequently asked questions about ShowArena

Where is the ShowArena?

The ShowArena is located underground within the Megapark complex at Ballermann 5 (Balneario 5) in El Arenal, Playa de Palma — a short walk from the beach, right next to the Bierkönig and Oberbayern.

What’s the price level like?

Firmly on the higher end: drinks come by the litre, and many guests describe the prices as expensive. However, the arena entrance includes a one-litre drink token, which changes the equation considerably. Arriving early in the evening also means free admission.

Do I need a reservation?

No reservation is needed for regular entry. To secure the VIP Stage right at the front of the arena or the Q-Lounge upstairs in the Megapark, it’s worth booking in advance online or via the Megapark app.

Who is the ShowArena best suited for?

Anyone who wants to dive deep into the Ballermann world: party groups, stag and hen parties, and solo travellers looking to celebrate among a predominantly German-speaking crowd. ShowArena guests tend to be younger than those in the bar upstairs.

How do I get there?

By bus, on foot along the promenade, or by hire car — parking is available nearby. The Megapark at Ballermann 5 in El Arenal is hard to miss. The venue has step-free access and a wheelchair-accessible restroom.

What makes the ShowArena special?

The combination of Ballermann scene stars — Mickie Krause, Mia Julia, Isi Glück, Oli.P — and genre-crossing acts (Hardtekk, German rap) on a professionally produced stage with laser shows and LED screens, all within the Megapark universe, is unique on the island.
