The hotel at Calvià Beach Resort in Magaluf leaves no doubt about what it is: an adults-only music hotel, built uncompromisingly for those who translate holiday into loud, colourful and communal.

Concept
The hotel operates under Meliá's SOL Essential brand, carrying its credo — "All Tribes Welcome" — right into the architecture. Rooms are deliberately stripped back: white walls, colour accents in orange, balcony, minibar, 43-inch TV. The message is clear: if you're spending time in your room, you're doing it wrong. Real life here happens at the pool, the bar, the arcade zone, the sundeck.
Sol House set the benchmark for what the industry calls a flagship: Meliá's SOL sub-brand was redefined here around music, design and energy — for millennials, friend groups, couples who don't want to doze on the beach but want to experience something together. And a slice of music history lives in its walls: under the "Sol Wave House" banner, in partnership with the Ibiza Rocks Group, names like Defected, Chocolate Puma, Krafty Kuts & Stanton Warriors and Claude VonStroke played here. The Mallorca Rocks Beach Club was born from that partnership, as was the weekly Colada Club pool party. The DJ credentials are not marketing fiction.

The Play Bar & Sound
The ground floor revolves around the Play Bar — contemporary design, graffiti on the walls, a billiard table at the centre, and a soundtrack you cannot miss anywhere on the premises. The "Sol Sets" pool party series — curated by Carlos Jean, seven-time Latin Grammy winner — gives the ambition a name: Gravity Party, Deep Blue House Party, Soundays. In summer these formats run regularly at the main pool, Friday through Sunday.
The design throughout is musically coded — hence the name "The Studio". Sol Hotels wall art, geometric graphics, playlist culture, an app with curated event updates and 24-hour social guest service. Also historically notable: Sol Wave House was among the first hotels in the world to fully integrate Twitter into guest services — Tweet Concierge, #SocialWave community, Tweet Wall in the lobby. That social DNA lives on.
Pool, Beach & Food
The main pool is the heartbeat of the hotel. Sun loungers, Bali beds (extra charge — worth it, book early), pool bar with an adults-only VIP sundeck. At the beach: Breeza Beach Club — a fresh beachfront setting, summer kitchen, sea views. The Food Factory is buffet and grab-and-go in one, with breakfast running well into the afternoon — a deliberately late-riser-friendly policy.

Who It's For
Explicitly for adults 16 and over, explicitly not for families. Friend groups on summer trips, energetic couples, stag parties with access to the full Calvià Beach programme — the guest mix is very British and, during peak season, correspondingly lively. Know that going in and you'll book with the right expectations. Come in shoulder season — May, September or October — and you'll experience the same hotel in a noticeably quieter key.
