Climate in Tolleric — South Coast Overlooking the Bay
Tolleric sits on the steep southern coastline of Llucmajor, 118 meters above sea level. The panorama across the Bay of Palma and the island of Cabrera is spectacular — and the location explains the area's microclimate: Mallorca's south coast is the sunniest and driest side of the island.
According to T3-Aggregator climate data from the nearby Llucmajor station, annual precipitation is around 505 mm. That's above the AEMET figure for Palma (449 mm), but below the rainier north and west coast locations. The south coast receives the bulk of its rainfall in autumn and winter; November is the wettest month at around 79 mm. Summer stays dry, with roughly 9 mm in July.
The southward orientation brings plenty of sunshine: Tolleric benefits from full sun exposure with no mountain shadow. The hillside terrain absorbs solar radiation and releases it slowly in the evening — combined with the sea view, this creates a pleasant coastal climate. Daytime highs in July reach around 31°C.
A notable climatic feature of the south coast is its susceptibility to Calima episodes (Saharan dust intrusions), which can affect visibility and air quality. Reliable figures in days cannot be given without a T1 source — but qualitatively: the south coast is affected more frequently than the sheltered north.
The coast lies directly below; water temperatures according to T3-Aggregator climate data are around 25–26°C in July and around 27°C in August. October still around 23°C.
Winters are mild: January around 11–12°C, with frost a rarity.
