About this yacht

Arriving at La Lonja Marina Charter, you meet Seas the Day at her home berth and step straight into the easy rhythm of a catamaran holiday. Choosing a Leopard 48 charter in Mallorca on this 2015-built yacht means there is room to settle in before departure: bags can go below, provisions into the refrigerator, and the cockpit becomes the natural meeting point beneath the bimini. Once everyone is aboard, the radio-CD player can set the mood while the crew gets ready to cast off.

The sleeping layout works especially well for several couples, a large family or a mixed group of friends. Four double cabins provide private spaces, while the individual front-peak cabin and convertible saloon add flexibility for a total of up to eleven guests. That arrangement allows some of the party to linger together after dinner while others retire to their own cabins, rather than asking everyone to follow the same routine.

Under way, the cockpit chart plotter and autopilot support the person at the helm, while the solar panels add another practical element to life aboard. A dinghy is also part of the equipment, ready when the group wants to leave the catamaran. Seas the Day is offered without a skipper, and a skipper’s licence is required, making her a strong choice for an experienced crew seeking independence. If her sociable spaces and flexible cabin plan match your Mallorca holiday, send an inquiry and start shaping your time aboard.

The Leopard 48

Designed by Simonis-Voogd, the Leopard 48 was first built in 2010 and remained in production until 2018. One of the model’s defining ideas is its forward cockpit, conceived as another place to relax and watch the surroundings. It gives the design a distinctive social character, with an additional outdoor area that complements the experience of moving between different parts of a catamaran.

The technical structure is equally considered. Its hulls are vacuum-bagged around a balsa core to maximise rigidity while minimising weight, and the model combines a displacement of 17,000 kilograms with 144.37 square metres of sail area. The shallow keels contain closed-cell polyurethane foam, intended to prevent water ingress and increase buoyancy. Sealed bulkheads at both bow and stern are designed to keep water out in the event of a collision, reflecting the attention paid to the hulls as well as the living areas. Typical cruising speed is 6.9 knots, with a maximum speed of 8.1 knots, while twin 39-horsepower engines provide the model’s auxiliary propulsion.
