Costitx is one of the smallest municipalities in the Mallorcan interior, sitting at 138 meters above sea level where the flat Plà de Mallorca meets the first foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana. This position on the boundary between plain and mountains gives the town a climate that reflects the extremes of the inland — occasionally shaped by wind phenomena coming off the Tramuntana.
