Dementia care in Mallorca – loving support at home

The agency Betreuung zuhaus’ has been organizing reliable and personal care in the client’s own home since 2010. This service is aimed at German senior citizens with dementia who live permanently or temporarily in Mallorca.

A carefully selected caregiver from Poland lives in the household of the person receiving care and provides safety, orientation, and support in daily life. Especially in cases of dementia, a familiar environment, fixed daily routines, and a continuous point of contact are of great importance.

Possible tasks of the caregiver:

• Support with daily personal hygiene
• Help with dressing and undressing
• Preparation of regular meals
• Shopping and support in the household
• Reminders to take prepared medication
• Orientation and structuring of the daily routine
• Conversations, walks, and shared activities
• Activation according to personal abilities
• Accompaniment to doctor’s appointments and errands
• Night-time support by individual arrangement
• Relief and support for relatives

Medical treatment care, for example injections or wound care, is provided if needed by a local outpatient nursing service.

Care costs start at 2,600 euros per month and depend on the individual care needs, the desired German language skills, the qualifications of the caregiver, and the local conditions.
