Description

Cala Estellencs is a small, rocky cove on the north-west coast of Mallorca, tucked away near the village of Estellencs.

Rocky cove with crystal-clear water

Cala Estellencs is not a sandy beach — the seabed is made up of pebbles and rock. The water is remarkably clear, and the stony bottom makes the cove a fine spot for snorkelling, with plenty of fish easy to spot beneath the surface. When the sea is calm, swimming conditions are very pleasant; water shoes make getting in and out considerably more comfortable. A small café and bar right at the water's edge rounds off a visit nicely.

Peaceful and unspoilt

The cove is quiet, rarely crowded, and has a wonderfully tranquil, unspoilt character. Its real charm lies in the atmosphere of the small fishing harbour — if you're looking for a natural harbour and a sense of seclusion, this is the place. At sunset, the backdrop of cliffs, mountains and the sweeping Tramuntana panorama is truly special.

Location and getting there

Cala Estellencs sits at 07192 Estellencs on the western coast of the island. The cove is reachable on foot from the village of Estellencs — the path winds down through the village to the water and takes around 30 minutes. If you're driving, be prepared: the access road is extremely narrow and winding, with virtually no room to pass oncoming traffic. Parking directly at the cove is very limited.
