Playa Roca de Camp de Mar
Description
Playa Roca de Camp de Mar is a pebble beach on the south-west coast of Mallorca, nestled in the sheltered bay of Camp de Mar and known for its crystal-clear water and peaceful setting.
Pebbles, not sand — and all the better for it
Playa Roca isn't your typical sandy beach: the shoreline is made up of stones, so water shoes are a good idea. Once you're in the water, though, you'll find a sandy seabed underfoot. The water is exceptionally clear and transparent — a quality that defines the whole feel of the place. Avoid swimming when there's a swell; in calm conditions the sheltered bay is ideal for a gentle swim or a snorkel, with fish and other marine life waiting just beneath the surface.
The restaurant on the rock
One of Playa Roca's most distinctive features is a restaurant perched on a rock out in the sea, reached by a small jetty. It's a real eye-catcher and very much part of the beach's character. Seating is limited, so booking ahead is strongly advised.
Quiet and refreshingly uncrowded
Playa Roca is noticeably quieter and less busy than the main beach at Camp de Mar, making it easy to find a peaceful spot even during the summer. On stormy days, the sight of waves crashing against the rocks makes for a dramatic and impressive scene in its own right.
Location & getting there
The beach is located at Via Francisca Capllonch Plomer 20 in Camp de Mar (07160). A public car park is within easy walking distance.
