Mancor de la Vall Weather

Today's weather in Mancor de la Vall
Mancor de la Vall is sunny today at 21.6°C, but it feels noticeably cooler — around 13.9°C — because of the wind. Temperatures will rise to a daytime maximum of 22.1°C, with just under 16°C expected at night.
The day will be mostly sunny, but a 73% chance of precipitation points to isolated, short showers; the freshening wind of about 19 km/h gives things a cool touch. The sun will still break through often, so it will feel pleasant at times and retain a bright atmosphere. Small sunny spells will alternate with possible brief rain, so expect changeable conditions.
A day for hiking and cafés
Today is a good day for a short hike into the Tramuntana foothills — Mancor is a convenient starting point for the mountains. Alternatively, a stroll to the monastery Santa Llúcia or a visit to a local olive mill is worthwhile, followed by a break in one of the village cafés. We recommend packing a light jacket, especially for exposed stretches in the wind.
Tomorrow will be warmer and sunny, around 26.8°C.

Climate in Mancor de la Vall — in the Tramuntana's mountain basin
Mancor de la Vall sits at 209 meters in one of the smaller side valleys of the Serra de Tramuntana, enclosed by mountain slopes rising on several sides. The village name — Mancor from the Latin mansus (farmstead) and Vall (valley) — points to this sheltered position. Anyone who experiences the weather here will notice: it is neither coastal climate nor open inland climate. It is valley climate.
That means, above all, more rain in autumn and winter. The Tramuntana acts as a barrier to moist Mediterranean winds, and the valley shape can amplify this orographic effect locally. Based on proxy climate data from neighboring stations and the expected Tramuntana orographic bonus, annual rainfall is estimated at around 700 mm — considerably more than the 449 mm AEMET records for Palma, and more than in the flat northern plain villages. The wettest month is November at around 95 mm. These figures are estimates; Mancor de la Vall has no dedicated climate station of its own.
Summers are warm, but the elevation of 209 m keeps them somewhat milder than on the coastal plain. According to proxy climate data, daily highs in July reach around 30°C, with daily averages around 25°C. Rainfall in July is minimal, at roughly 11 mm. The valley shape generates thermal updrafts on calm high-pressure afternoons — a phenomenon well known to hikers on the surrounding slopes. The Embat sea breeze from the coast reaches the valley in a weakened form, if at all.
Winter in Mancor de la Vall has its own character: the January daily average sits at around 10°C, and the valley shape means nights cool more sharply than on the open plain. Cold air can pool on the valley floor, making clear winter nights noticeably colder. Frost cannot be ruled out, but remains confined to extreme conditions. On the flip side, the mountain basin gives rainy winter days a frequently overcast, foggy feel — atmospheric, but less appealing for travel.
The hiking infrastructure around Mancor de la Vall is good; the best conditions are in spring and early autumn.

Note on data sources: Mancor de la Vall has no AEMET climate-normal station of its own and no standalone T3 climate table. The climate values used are based on T3-Aggregator data from Alcúdia (~18 km) with T4 corrections for altitude and valley-basin position. All figures should be treated as indicative.
