Mallorca flood plan at zero as Adam brings 410 incidents
Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, remains at level zero under the Inunbal flood plan, but a yellow weather alert still covers the island. The Adam weather system has caused 410 incidents across the Balearics in recent days, according to the 112 emergency coordination centre. After 21.00 on Tuesday, 13 flooding cases remain open on Eivissa and Formentera, involving buildings, businesses or public roads.
The flood plan remains at operational level two on Eivissa and Formentera. Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, says the heavy rain and thunderstorms are nearing an end, though they are not over. The yellow alert remains in place across all the islands, and the Balearic Government says it will review the situation again on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the government’s director general for emergencies and the interior, Pablo Gárriz, visited affected places on Eivissa, including Sant Josep, Platja d’en Bossa, Santa Eulària and d’es Figueral beach. He offered local authorities help and advice. He plans to travel to Formentera on Wednesday to see its worst damage firsthand.
