17 people get affordable rental homes in Eivissa
Seventeen people have received the keys to seven affordable municipal rental homes in sa Penya, Eivissa, on Monday. They signed their tenancy agreements the same day, Eivissa Town Hall said. Monthly rents range from 203,14 to 460,28 euros.
The homes are for young people looking to move into their own place, single-parent families and people from the municipality. Mayor Rafa Triguero said the handover gave 17 people the chance to live in the historic centre with a stable, affordable lease.
The properties are part of a refurbishment project run through the Consorci Eivissa Patrimoni de la Humanitat.
Applicants had to be registered with the Balearic Islands Housing Institute, Ibavi, and have been continuously registered in Eivissa for at least 10 years. They also needed Spanish nationality or legal residence, could not own another home and had to be up to date with tax and Social Security payments.
A reserve list has also been drawn up to fill any homes that become vacant in future.
