Mallorca after-party: two held over alleged drug sales
Two people are under arrest over suspected drug sales at an after-party in Playa de Palma, Mallorca. Police stopped a car carrying them last weekend after it made sudden manoeuvres near a checkpoint. Officers found speed, small bags of other drugs and 170 euros.
The Spanish National Police had set up checks near the house where the party was being held. It said many young people had gathered there and local people had made repeated complaints.
Officers said the car made abrupt, unusual manoeuvres when the people inside saw police patrols. They stopped it, checked the occupants and searched the vehicle. The woman and man were carrying the drugs; officers found the cash in notes and coins.
The drugs were sent to the relevant health authority to establish what they contained. Police suspect the pair of selling speed and other drugs at the party. They arrested them on suspicion of an offence against public health and took them to a police station.
