Mallorca: Andratx water pipe works to last six months
Mallorca’s town of Andratx faces around six months of water pipe works: the €600,000 project could temporarily affect traffic and movement through parts of the town centre. Andratx Town Council and Gestión de Servicios Urbanos de Baleares (Acciona) plan to start in the third week of October 2026. The work covers the area between Bernat Riera and Metge Gaspar Pujol streets, Plaza de España and Avenida Juan Carlos I.
The council says the replacement pipes should reduce water lost from the network. It also expects fewer faults and fewer supply interruptions caused by emergency repairs. Mayor Estefanía Gonzalvo says the investment will help make the water supply more reliable.
Traffic and access may be affected at some points while the work is under way. The council and Acciona say they will work together to limit disruption. Once the pipes are in place, the entire work area will be resurfaced.
