Mallorca's 11 regional groups celebrate Aragón
Mallorca puts Aragón centre stage: 11 regional groups gather at Son Pardo racecourse in Palma, Mallorca, on Sunday, 18 October, for food, music and dance. The Centro Aragonés de Mallorca leads this third gathering, the Balearic government says. Its programme includes a meal featuring food from Aragón and traditional music and dance performed by folklore school Soniando.
The other groups bring their own performances. Amigos Rocieros dances sevillanas, the Casa de Cantabria sings as a choir, and the Hogar Canario and Casa de Andalucía also take part.
The meeting gives the groups a chance to share the traditions they keep alive throughout the year. Xesca Ramis, the Balearic government's director general for institutional and parliamentary relations, thanked the people who organise activities and pass those traditions on to younger generations.
Last time, the Hogar Canario took centre stage. A draw at Sunday's gathering picked the Casa de València a Calvià-Falla del Toro to present its culture, traditions and food at the fourth meeting.
