Mallorca architects honour eight former deans in photos

Mallorca’s architects now have photos of eight former deans in the boardroom of their Palma headquarters: the display honours the people who led the professional body from 1978 to 2022. The Official College of Architects of the Balearic Islands announced the tribute on Wednesday, 14 October, after holding a ceremony. Each photo gives the dean’s years in office.

Juan M. Bonnin led the college from its founding in 1978 until 1980. Rafael Balaguer, Rafael Vidal, José Luis Juan, Antoni Ramis, Lluis A. Corral and Juan Morey followed. Marta Vall-llosera served from 2015 to 2022.

The college says the display preserves its history and recognises its former leaders’ work. It also wants to highlight its role in representing architects and promoting architecture across the islands.
