Downpours hit the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community: Catalonia’s president, Salvador Illa, urges people in Catalonia to take “maximum” care as rain is forecast for Monday, 19 October. In a post on X that day, he offers support and solidarity to both affected regions.
On Sunday, a woman was found dead in Sagunt, in the Valencian Community. An alert had been raised after she went missing following her entry into the sea. The report does not say whether her death was linked to the rain.
