20 Balearic food firms pitch oil and cheese in Berlin
Mallorca’s Chamber of Commerce puts 20 Balearic food firms in front of German buyers in Berlin on 6 October. Olive oil, cheese and pastries are among the products they bring to the meeting. The chamber says it wants to help the island businesses find customers in the German market.
The firms also show meat products, other dairy foods and nuts. Many of their products carry quality labels or come from organic farming, traditional methods or sustainable production. In individual meetings, the firms present their food to importers, distributors, restaurants and chefs.
Producers from Sardinia and Crete join them for product presentations, tastings, masterclasses and a cooking demonstration. The meeting is part of a project promoting sustainable, high-quality foods from Mallorca, Sardinia and Crete. The project also aims to draw attention to the contribution those foods and their production methods make to the environment, climate and animal welfare.
