Balearics jobs: total falls by 226 during August

The Balearic Islands had 693,812 people on Social Security rolls in August, 226 fewer than in July. The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration released the figures on Wednesday, 2 September, putting the monthly fall at 0.03%.
The dip still leaves the islands well ahead of a year earlier. There were 26,872 more registered workers than in August 2025, an increase of 4.03%.
The main Social Security scheme counted 579,716 contributors, including 9,332 domestic workers and 3,022 agricultural workers. A further 110,124 people were registered as self-employed, while 3,971 were in the scheme for sea workers.
