Palma, Mallorca: bus passenger numbers fall 1.3% in August, while metro numbers rise 10.3% compared with a year earlier. Buses carry 5.48 million passengers during the month; the metro carries 100,000. The figures come from Spain’s National Statistics Institute.
The institute publishes figures for Palma but withholds regional figures for the Balearic Islands to protect statistical confidentiality. Of the regions for which it publishes urban bus figures, only Madrid also records a fall, at 1.5%.
