Cala d'Or assault: Italian man arrested in Santanyí

The Guardia Civil has arrested an Italian man over an alleged assault near a leisure venue in Cala d'Or, Santanyí, Mallorca. The incident happened in the early hours of 16 August, the force said.

Officers on preventative patrol were alerted to a fight and found the injured man lying in the road. He was semi-conscious, with significant bleeding to his face and bruising, and was taken to hospital after receiving treatment from medical staff.

Investigators believe the suspect punched the man in the face and kicked him several times after he fell to the ground. He allegedly left the scene but was later found nearby in Cala d'Or.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of causing injury and handed over to the judicial authorities.
