Their roles cover human nutrition and dietetics, environmental management, green infrastructure, human resources, general administration, digital communication and social media. The recruits will gain experience in their fields while adding staff to council services, Calvià Town Hall said.

The appointments are part of a scheme run by the Balearic Employment Service (SOIB). It is aimed at unemployed people aged over 18 and under 30 who are registered as jobseekers with SOIB and receive support through Spain’s National Youth Guarantee System.

Calvià has been awarded €214,750 for the programme and will contribute more than €26,000 itself. It is co-financed by the Sectoral Conference on Employment and Labour Affairs and the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus.
