Can Picafort fire destroys clothing shop

A fire in Can Picafort, Santa Margalida, Mallorca, destroyed a clothing shop on Monday 24 August 2026. Fire crews from Alcúdia and Artà attended, and four homes and the commercial premises were evacuated.

Mallorca Fire Service initially said there were no injuries. However, the SAMU emergency medical service reported that a firefighter was taken to Hospital de Muro after an electric shock, while another person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
