MÉS parliamentary spokesman Lluís Apesteguia said the People’s Party’s vote against the proposal in 2024 had cost Mallorca two years. He said it now appeared likely to win approval.

Apesteguia said that if he becomes president of the Council of Mallorca after the next elections, the law would be in place next season and the vehicle limit would apply.

Vox spokeswoman Manuela Cañadas said her party agreed with part of the diagnosis but not with the proposed answer. Vox will therefore abstain, as it did at the island council.
