Mallorca caravan fire spreads as police probe arson
Mallorca: A caravan catches fire in the Son Hugo car park in Palma, Mallorca, shortly before 13.00 on Wednesday 14 October. Flames spread to at least two other vehicles. No one is hurt.
The Palma fire brigade puts out the flames. Police sources say the firefighters’ account has raised an early suspicion that the fire was started deliberately. Several witnesses say they saw people at the site shortly before the fire began.
Palma’s Local Police say a butane gas cylinder was the source of the fire. Spain’s National Police are investigating who may be responsible and what their intentions were.
