Pons previously served on the federation’s executive committee, where she was responsible for trade union action. She has a law degree and two master’s degrees, in legal practice and equality. The union says her experience defending workers’ rights will help her lead the federation.

Under Pons, the union says it will push for stronger workers’ rights, better working conditions and equal opportunities. It also wants to strengthen union representation in workplaces across the Balearic Islands.
