Prohens sent condolences to Alomar’s family, friends and colleagues in the PSIB. Llorenç Galmés, president of the Council of Mallorca, said the island had lost a leading figure in its political and public life.

Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Jaume Bauzá also offered his condolences. He said Alomar served during a period that marked a turning point in how tourism was considered and managed in the Balearic Islands.

Bauzá said decisions promoted by Alomar still feature in the debate over the islands’ tourism model.
