In Barcelona, the Comuns approve their list for Spain’s Congress without spokeswoman Aina Vidal: 34% vote against it on 22 October 2026. Culture Minister Ernest Urtasun defends the line-up after meeting representatives of the Taula del Tercer Sector.

Four names missing from the list

Candela López, Eloi Badia and Gerardo Pisarello are not standing again either. Urtasun says choosing candidates is difficult. He thanks all four for their work and says the alliance wants them involved in the election campaign.

A different deal for the Senate

Urtasun says Frente Amplio will seek the best result it can in every province at the Congress election. Asked about Teruel, he says the parties in the alliance will explain any particular arrangements.

In some provinces, the alliance has agreed joint Senate lists with the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE). Urtasun says it will not extend that deal across the board to the Congress election.
