Formentera construction waste rules: have your say

Responsible for this content: Frank Menze

On the island of Formentera, people involved in construction and demolition waste have until 11 November to put forward ideas for new rules. The Formentera Island Council opened the consultation on Thursday, 22 October, before it drafts regulations for collecting, receiving and managing the waste.

The rules will set out how a temporary waste site in the Es Cap de Barbaria area can operate until the planned permanent plant is built. The council says it wants better control over the waste, a clearer record of where it goes and more separation of different materials. The rules will also set out what users and those running the service must do.

Proposals can be submitted through the Citizen Services Office or the council’s Virtual Office.
